Genetics on Google Book Search

Genetics on Google Book Search

books 02Over on my old blog, Genetics and Health, I used to have fun using Google Book Search to pull genetics quotes like this one from a book by Mark L. Winston. One day when I was poking around the Google Book Search site, I saw a link where readers could share their thoughts about Google Book Search. Never one to pass up an opportunity to promote myself, I submitted my story (it’s way down at the bottom of the page).

“When Google Book Search first came out, I knew my wishlist of books would soon be miles long. As I began using it, I started having even more fun finding information on any manner of things. For my blog, GeneticsAndHealth.com, I started a weekly series of genetics quotes that feature a quote from a book on any topic mentioning genes, DNA, or genetics. I’ll type in search requests like: [stupid genes], [humor genes], [happy DNA], etc. The results have been thought-provoking, hilarious, and surprising. Google Book Search makes reading fun and piques my interest in esoteric books that I may never have discovered otherwise. Thank you for a great service!”

I don’t know how long this blurb has been up but I’m very pleased to have come across it. Genetics can be a part of every experience in the most unexpected ways!
