Are you looking for information on laboratories and clinics that offer genetic testing?
GeneTests.org, funded by the National Institutes of Health, has directories that list laboratories and clinics all over the world that offer genetic testing. You can do a direct search or sort by clicking the buttons for Gene, Locus, Protein, Feature, OMIM#, Services, Location, etc. The website also has GeneReviews on a variety of medical conditions.
The educational materials provided at GeneTests are written by experts in their field, all with advanced degrees. Their mission statement:
By providing current, authoritative information on genetic testing and its use in diagnosis, management, and genetic counseling, GeneTests promotes the appropriate use of genetic services in patient care and personal decision making.
Sounds like information consumers can trust.
NB: Geneforum has a tutorial on using GeneTests.org to find answers.

Great site. We use it all the time.
Rebecca: The interface is so plain but well-organized and very easy to navigate.
Love the post. If only I could get more physicians to familiarize themselves with this site and OMIM. I even search OMIM and have many pubmed savvy physicians say “what the heck is that?”
Ditto for genetests
Take Care

I think information overload is one of the problems. It’s not as if there’s a little laminated card everyone gets with a short list of first stop reference websites for genetics. hmmm Maybe I’ll produce one and sell it!
