DNA Quote of the Day
by Dr. Hsien-Hsien Lei
Posted May 14, 2007 in DNA Quotes and Excerpts
From Creating a Canon for Science by Leslie Scrivener of the Toronto Star:
[Natalie] Angier has worked with editors who questioned if a whale is a mammal, and heard that some people think DNA is localized somewhere low in the body, near the reproductive organs.
Or maybe DNA is found in an Eppendorf microcentrifuge tube.

When I first read this, I said “WooHoo – I am smarter than some geeky scientists”. And then I read that it was editors who questioned these facts….and I became a little disappointed.
I mean, what do editors know anyway?
except of course the ones that I have worked with…they know a whole lot.
lolol You’re not counting me as one of the editors you’ve worked with, are you?! I’m afraid I was just playing at being one back then.
hmmmmm not telling
actually, i personally know some editors who aren’t nearly as great as you. (these “editors” aren’t ones that i have had or currently have though).
ooops i guess i just told.
Yeah, nice save. lol I’ll be nice and not pry. Not now, anyway. Maybe over a fizzy drink one of these days.
Hsien,
I have NOTHING BAD to say about my time under your leadership. In fact, you were very helpful, when I needed some guidance.
It will take many many drinks to get me to tell you about the stories I know….am really glad that I don’t work those editors.
