Spin a DNA Yarn

Infatuated with DNA? Head spinning with thoughts about DNA? Collect your wildest fantasies about DNA and enter Ethical Futures Short Story Competition sponsored by the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. Stories can be written or in multi-media format and should be based on how society is being changed by scientific advances. Closing date is June 30, 2007.
Can we imagine a world where people are able to choose from a menu of ‘enhancing’ techniques - IQ, strength, disease prevention, age extension, among others? What would life be like in such a world? What ethical dilemmas might it raise?
If you’re going the multimedia route, may I suggest something along the lines of these clips from Rubberball Film’s Medical Biotech CD? There are many computer animated video clips of DNA, including this one of DNA superimposed on an image of a human body.
