• Dr. Enoch Choi won’t be recommending the genetic test for CYP2C9 and VKORC1 to his patients as a way to help determine starting dose of blood thinner warfarin (coumadin). Somehow I don’t think DNA Network member Dr. Steve Murphy at Gene Sherpa would agree that coumadin metabolism genotyping is clinically invalid. • The Scientist wants us to vote for our favorite life sciences blogs. Bora aka Coturnix at A Blog Around The Clock and Sandra Porter at Discovering Biology in a Digital World at were kind enough to submit votes for Eye on DNA. I am actually preparing an editorial for the Journalof Family Practice regardin this assumption that we are not ready for prime time. Let’s say we weren’t ready….Does this mean that physicians do not have to learn about the technology? Don’t think so…… Besides, Harvard’s CROWN study will soon be finsihed and the other 40 some trials will be released by the end of the year or into 2008. So whoever the doubters may be, they better be ready to eat humblepie.
