Dear, Mr. Wells I am a sophomore student at Junipero Serra Highschool. During our honors biology class we were handed one of your articles, The History of Men Secrets of the Y chromosome. I was able to learn and understand a lot more about the migration of society and why the Y chromosome is very important in trailing the ancestry of a human being. There is a question I wanted to ask you, mitochondrial DNA has been used as an "evolutionary clock" to measure changes over time in the human population. I wonder if the Y chromosome offers better or more or different information than mitochondria DNA. I would just like to know what is your input on this issue.

P.S. If you could please email me back with your answer that would be great
