Today, I’m starting a new series of mini-interviews asking one simple question:
What does DNA mean to you?
Writer David Bradley of Sciencebase is first up with his thoughts:
DNA means one of my early successes (at the age of 18) in the public understanding of science, when I explained to my non-science educated father the meaning of the term and why it is so important for our understanding of life.

DNA, to me, means everything. It’s who I am. DNA is what seperates the haves and the have-nots for pure atheletic talent.
DNA is our chance to pop open the hood and tinker around a bit. Surgeons get to slice things up and sew them back together a bit but genetic engineers can really mix things up.
Once you’ve got the DNA, you’ve got it all. The trick is figuring out what to do with it.

@Doug “Once you’ve got the DNA, you’ve got it all.” I think we’re actually now beginning to realize that having the DNA does not mean we have it all, there are so many cross-generational factors that are apparently not transmitted via DNA…
